WELCOME / CROESO
Once part of the Glyn Abbey Estate, Tyn Y Cwm, (literal translation, house in the valley) is a 12 acre small holding, secluded but not isolated, enjoying panaoramic views of the Gwendraeth Valley on the edge of the village of Pontyates.
It has three letting rooms all with en suite facilities, Wi-Fi, Freeview television and tea / coffee making facilities. The downstairs twin room is ideal for less mobile visitors and has a wet room.
There is a large guest sitting room with a veranda leading onto the garden where guests can sit, relax and have their morning coffee or afternoon tea, weather permitting. We also offer evening meals by request.
For the more energetic there are walks to take in the view. From the top of the side fields you can partially see Ffos Las, once the deepest opencast mine in Europe, now the home of the only equine race course in the UK to be built since the war. If you walk through the woods to the other top field, you will have a panoramic view of the Gwendraeth Valley.
Being an organic holding Tyn Y Cwm has an abundance of wild life and flowers. The area is a bird watchers paradise, including sightings of the beautiful Red Kite.
